5Great glasses at a great price.  Jun 29, 2011

These fit my larger than average face perfectly. I have always loved RayBan so I had high expectations and these did not disappoint.

5Great sunglasses if you're after a modern, yet classic look (polarized grey glass lens version)  Apr 01, 2011
By Franklin J. Rabon "music/photography enthusiast"
My primary sunglasses are Ray Ban Aviators, with polarized glass lenses. However, I wanted a second pair to compliment them. I wanted a pair that was at least slightly wrap around, since the aviators don't wrap around at all and can be problematic when the sun is coming at you from the side. I also wanted a more "modern" style to contrast with the aviators' "timeless classic" look. The predators fit that bill perfectly.

I opted for the black frames with gray polarized glass lenses. This is the most premium lens ray ban offers for the Predators (2027). I've always felt that if you're going to pay more than $100 for sunglasses, you should get glass, as they will last substantially longer than polycarb lenses. The optical quality of the premium gray glass polarized lenses is excellent. Contrast is perfect, colors pop without being exaggerated, you can make out a lot of details that you couldn't otherwise because of light.

Let me say that these are for larger faces. If you have a smallish, or even medium face, either look at another frame or at least make sure you try a pair on first. However, if you have a largish face, the fit is excellent. These are light, yet stay firmly planted on your face, no matter how active you are. They block the sun from nearly all angles, yet they don't feel like you are wearing goggles, like some wrap arounds. with some wrap around designs, it can feel like your eyes are being suffocated, as they completely block all air circulation. Howver, with the predators, ventilation is good. They can occasionally fog up if you're sweating in already humid weather, but that's going to be the case with any wrap around type style, and many non wrap around styles.

The only minor complaint is that I wish the plastic they used was slightly more flexible, it's quite rigid. However, that's a very minor nit, and it may have been the case that any other material would have sacrificed weight, and it is clear that Ray Ban designed these to be as light as possible, which is a definite plus.

In summation, if you're looking for a modern, yet classic design that wraps around and you have a largish face, then these should definitely be a strong consideration. You should opt for the highest quality lenses if you're going to spend this much money on sunglasses.

1Ray-Ban Quality in toilet?  Feb 22, 2009
By Mark W. Furlong "PrairieFire"
I have two pairs of Wayfarers, a pair of Ray-Ban Aviators and a pair of Predator 2s. I always turned to Ray-Ban because they featured precision ground Bausch and Lomb glass lenses. Plastic lenses never seem to have the same optical consistency for me and my experiences with Polycarbonate have been disappointing.

I'm glad I took care of my Ray-Bans because it looks like they've sold out, too....all crappy polycarbonate....Their website seems to go out of the way to hide the lens material. Like everything else in America...all style no substance.

Based on what I read in the Predator and Wayfarer reviews on Amazon, though, nobody out here gives a rat's butt about optical quality anyway...just what frame color and whether they look cool.

Don't worry...you'll still look pretty even if the lens' give you eyestrain.

1Not received what I expected  Jun 30, 2009
By Nestor Anazco
Unfortunately, i did not receive what i bought by internet amazon site, I select a polarized sunglasses model, and they sent me a non-polarized one. I live outside the United States and have no way of returning them, i won't use it, I lost my money definitely, i will prefer to buy on line in Ebay, They send exactly what one buy online.
