I recently purchased the Costa Fathom in black matt frame with green mirror 580G lenses. I just got back from a day kayak fishing trip on the Potomac River (VA). I am happy to say I had a phenomidal day. I caught several of my biggest large mouth bass. I attribute my successful day to my new Costa Fathom sunglasses. These sunglasses not only cut horizontal and vertical glare, they brighten up colors. The color contrast is superb compared to my blue polarized Oakly. I highly recommend the Costa green mirror to anyone fishing river, streams, and brackish waters. Despite the intense summer sun, I could clearly see the bottom of the river bed and everything in between. I was able to sight fish today. As a result I caught several 4 pounders. I've owned a number of sunglasses by Oakly, Mau Jim, and Ray Ban. The Costa are my favorite for fishing. Super clear and amazing contrast.

Bought these about a month ago and they are fantastic. Durable, solid, rugged...I have used them for just about everything and anything outdoors. From throwing in the front yard to going for a run to beach trips (fishing, yadda yadda), these sunglasses stick to your face, have great polarization, and fit comfortably on my face (I have a medium to large head...I wear a 7 3/8 fitted hat to give you a gauge). I have had a pair of oakley monster dogs, canteens, and finally these..and I must say the Costas rock. Very simplistic design, great polarization, great pair of shades!

I own several pairs of Costa Del Mar Sunglasses and I couldn't be happier with any of them. Each pair has its individual purpose.....at least that's how I justify buying multiple pairs (because I love them so much). I have owned Oakleys, Ray Bans, and Maui Jims in the past and Costas reign supreme. The Fathom Sunglasses with the Mirror Lenses are very comfortable on my face and perform exceptionally well in the harsh maritime environment where I work. While I do love the style of these glasses, I must admit that the Costas are not quite as "stylish" as the Maui Jims; however, when it comes to performance - especially on the water - Costa Del Mar is untouchable. The Blue Mirror Lenses do a phenomenal job at filtering the yellow light that kills a person's ability to see on/through the water. Also, glare from the sun is virtually eliminated with these sunglasses. I have read a number of negative reviews stating that these sunglasses fall apart fairly easily and that the warranty process is extremely tedious to boot. I have owned my sunglasses for a while now and I have not had any issues with them whatsoever. I do, however, take the time to properly care for them which I am sure keeps them in good condition. I do have a friend that sent in his 4-year-old pair of Costa Blackfins for repair. He admitted to beating them up quite a bit, but they were still in decent condition. For a small, $11 processing fee, they did a complete makeover on his sunglasses and they came back virtually brand new. I have been more than happy with my Costa Del Mar experience. I don't think it's a coincidence that just about everyone who works on the water, especially in sunny Florida, trusts their eyes to a pair of Costas. They truly are the best sunglasses I've ever owned....I can't wait to buy my next pair!!

For clarity and comfort, these are the best sunglasses I have owned, apart from the same pair I had before them (only renewed due loosing them)Which I had for a couple of years without any problems or encountering anything like the previous reviewer. I have the Orange frames with green mirror lenses, they look good and used whilst driving long distances I dont suffer from eye fatigue as I did with my previous non costa sunglasses. I cant recommend these enough. And they are great on the water, so for fishermen, surfers, or any other water related pursuits, get yourself a pair.

There are better glasses out there for the price. The ear pieces on this model crumble. This causes the glasses to slip off your face. The warranty won't cover the glasses if they slip off your face and break even if it's due to faulty ear pieces. Buy something else. The "Life Time Warranty" doesn't exist.
